A very peaceful spot to spend sum quite moments at the Holy Shrine of Qamar Ali Durwesh located in a smalltown ‘Shivapur’ in Pune, Maharashtra. The shrine better known as ‘patthar wali dargah’ (The Shrine of a stone). Actually in this video u’ll see sum peoples struggling to lift and hold the 100kg stone on their shoulders with a belief of wishes will come true. The story behing this traditional act goes like this, around sum 700-800 years back a muslim priest ‘Qamar Ali Durwesh’ came to Shivapur with an aim to spread Islam to the residents. When he reached there he felt shocked to know that people over there havent’ got the rainfall since years. So he went to a hill top (where the shrine is now located) and lifted a stone on his shoulder and started praying to God for the rainfall. After a long period of time, rainfall started. Since then peoples are doing this traditional act as a dedication to him. Also people gathers around the stone nd tries to lift it with single finger..!! Have a look.

The Shanti Stupa was built by Japanese Buddhists. It is on a hill in Leh Valley and can be reached by steps (appx 500 steps) or by the road. The white Stupa is a place for peace and reflection. The walls on the dome inside have Buddha images and there is a small shrine out golden buddha outside the dome. The view atop from the Stupa is spectacular and the whole Leh Valley is seen from it.

STORY: Jammu city and adjoining districts seem to have returned to normal as markets, government offices, schools, banks and universities open. Traffic hits the road as usual, after a 63 day shutdown. A “broad agreement” is now in place, after a nine hour meeting between the four member Governor’s panel and the Hindu group, Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti. In a landmark decision, the government of India’s northern Jammu and Kashmir has decided to let the Amarnath shrine board make temporary use of 40-hectares of land during a period of religious celebration. Shopkeepers are now cleaning up their shopfronts, which have been littered with spent tear-gas shells and half burnt tires. Locals are now getting ready for religious celebrations, which will include use of the shrine. It was crowded and hectic, but it’s a really fascinating place. There are charity restaurants where you can buy tickets to feed people. Towards the end of the video, you see some of the 30 people we bought dinner for, as they go in to get their food.

In February 2008 Lama Jampa Thaye (www.dechen.org/teachers/index.html) undertook his annual trip to visit His Holiness Sakya Trizin in Rajpur, India. Lama Jampa requested that His Holiness bestow the precious initiations of the 84 Mahasiddhas. Lama Jampa received the initiations along with his wife Dechen Dolma and 500 monks and nuns.
